With the Epicor Software, all functionality will be integrated in one system, and specifically the integration of CAD systems is a big step forward for Nieaf-Smitt.
Utrecht and Nootdorp, June 4th 2010 — Macroscoop B.V. is pleased to announce that Nieaf-Smitt B.V., a leading company in design and manufacturing of high quality electro-mechnical components and solutions for demanding markets like railway, power-energy and shipbuilding has chosen software of Epicor for their next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. Epicor software will replace the current system and will support the continuous growth of the company.
Nieaf-Smitt employs 130 people in the Netherlands, with an annual turnover over €21M and is a subsidiary of MorsSmitt Holdings SAS with a total revenue of €38M and 295 employees.
Its’ current ERP system dates from the mid 90’s and is no longer meeting the requirements and high standards they are looking for.

Epicor 9 also offers a lot of new functionality, such as barcode scanning, customer and supplier portals that will enable Nieaf-Smitt to make the next step forward in efficiency and quality of information.
Macroscoop will support the implementation of Epicor 9 at Nieaf-Smitt.
The projectplanning is to go-live in the Netherlands on Jan 1st 2011 with the situation “as is”.
Optimalisation and implementation of new functionality will be done in 2011 and 2012, as well as the implementation at the sister companies in HongKong and Zhongshan in China.
The selection procedure consisted of 8 systems, and as a result of the advanced functionality and the absence of need for third party products Nieaf-Smitt has decided to establish a partnership with Macroscoop and Epicor Software Corporation.
