Insights is een groots opgezet evenement, waarin u wordt geïnformeerd over de laatste stand der technologie, nieuwe trends onder de aandacht worden gebracht en inzicht wordt gegeven in bestaande en toekomstige producten. Daarnaast wordt ingegaan op trends in de industrie en hoe deze ontwikkelingen voor u van belang kunnen zijn. Tevens worden er een groot aantal parallel sessies gehouden waarin specifieke  Epicor 9.05 functionaliteiten worden behandeld. Analistenbureau Gartner uit de Verenigde Staten heeft onderzoek gedaan naar ERP-leveranciers die applicaties ontwikkelen voor productiebedrijven in het middensegment met als uitgangspunt is dat deze leveranciers wereldwijd opereren.

Uit dit onderzoek van december 2010 komt naar voren dat Epicor met haar software-pakket Epicor 9 als de meest visionaire leverancier wordt gezien.

With the Epicor software, all functionality will be integrated in one system, and specifically the integration of CAD systems is a big step forward for Nieaf-Smitt.
Epicor 9 also offers a lot of new functionality, such as barcode scanning, customer and supplier portals that will enable Nieaf-Smitt to make the next step forward in efficiency and quality of information.

Macroscoop will support the implementation of Epicor 9 at Nieaf-Smitt.
The projectplanning is to go-live in the Netherlands on Jan 1st 2011 with the situation “as is”.
Optimalisation and implementation of new functionality will be done in 2011 and 2012, as well as the implementation at the sister companies in HongKong and Zhongshan in China.

The selection procedure consisted of 8 systems, and as a result of the advanced functionality and the absence of need for third party products Nieaf-Smitt has decided to establish a partnership with Macroscoop and Epicor Software Corporation.

Epicor komt door toepassing van de Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) sterk naar voren in vergelijking met andere ERP producten. SOA wordt door Gartner als een zeer belangrijke ontwikkeling beschouwd. De trend in ERP is dat productiebedrijven steeds meer opzoek gaan naar één pakket dat op meerdere vestigingen wereldwijd kan worden gebruikt en ondersteund. Epicor Vantage sluit precies aan bij bovengenoemde criteria en mag zich daarom het meest visionair noemen!

Veranderingen van bedrijfsprocessen vragen om eenvoudige aanpassingen in het ERP-systeem. Traditionele systemen zijn hiertoe niet in staat waardoor maatwerk is vereist. Met BPM past u zelfstandig het gebruik en de mogelijkheden van het Epicor ERP-systeem aan.

ERP-systemen van Epicor worden wereldwijd geleverd als totaal geïntegreerde standaard producten. Een standaard product wil zeggen dat het in principe voor circa 90% aansluit bij de wensen van de betreffende organisatie. De laatste 10% van de gewenste functionaliteit is voor elke organisatie anders.

Daarnaast is het bekend dat bedrijfsprocessen en werkwijzen ook na een implementatie van een ERP-systeem continue veranderen.
